Description	:	Myron Highstreet was born on a farm northeast of Chancellor, SD on May 11, 1924, the son of Henry F. and Minnie (DeVries) Hoogestraat. He attended rural school and grew to manhood there. On January 31, 1945 he was united in marriage to Pearl Schmidt at Second Reformed Church in Lennox, SD. They farmed near Lennox for several years and then went into construction and carpentry for forty years. His death ended a marriage of nearly 50 years. Read More	Myron Highstreet was born on a farm northeast of Chancellor, SD on May 11, 1924, the son of Henry F. and Minnie (DeVries) Hoogestraat. He attended rural school and grew to manhood there. On January 31, 1945 he was united in marriage to Pearl Schmidt at Second Reformed Church in Lennox, SD. They farmed near Lennox for several years and then went into construction and carpentry for forty years. His death ended a marriage of nearly 50 years. Myron was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Lennox where he served as an elder for over nine years. He continued to remain active in woodworking and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father on February 18, 1942, his mother on January 16, 1973, and one brother Andrew Hoogestraat on January 19, 1989. Following a lengthy illness, Myron died at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on Sunday morning, January 22, 1995, having attained the age of 70 years, eight months and 11 days. Grateful for having shared his life are his widow, Pearl; three daughters: Sharon Rudd and her husband, Bobby, of Lakeland, FL; Myra Jean VanDeKieft and her husband, Tom, of Canton, SD, and Peggy Lund and her husband, Delton of Worthing, SD; seven grandchildren: James and Todd Klinghage, Gerald and Perry VanDeKieft, Sherry Farnsworth, Sara and Suzanne Lund; five great-grandchildren; two brothers: Dan Hoogestraat of Lennox and Vernon Highstreet of Sioux Falls; three sisters: Sophia Dannen of Colton, Winifred Dannen of Tea, and Christine Foster of Garden Grove, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
