Description	:	Myron Wilson "Willie" Bennett, 84 years of age, of Kearney, Nebraska, formerly of Oxford, Nebraska, passed away on May 19, 2022, at the Good Samaritan Society – St. John's in Kearney. Myron was born on June 25, 1937, in Danbury, Nebraska, the second of three children, born to Myron Oscar and Flora (McDonald) Bennett. He received his education and graduated from Danbury Public School in 1954. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. Myron was born on June 25, 1937, in Danbury, Nebraska, the second of three children, born to Myron Oscar and Flora (McDonald) Bennett. He received his education and graduated from Danbury Public School in 1954. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. He continued to stay active in the Naval Reserves and National Guard throughout his life. He pursued higher education and received a teacher's certificate from McCook Junior College. Following his education, Myron worked in Palisade, Nebraska as a teacher. On May 28, 1960, Myron was united in marriage to Margaret Kircher in McCook, and to this union, four children were born: Linda, Darla, Joni, and Rob. The couple made their home in Kearney, where Myron continued to teach. He went back to school and received his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Kearney State College and graduated in 1963. In 1963, the family moved to Oxford, where Myron taught Science in the Oxford Public School System for the next 30 years. In 1992, Myron was united in marriage to Dolores (Cox) Monk. Myron enjoyed being a ham radio operator. He was a talented craftsman and used his skills to build the family home. Myron was a licensed electrician and helped many families in the Oxford area. He was a member of the Oxford American Legion and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Oxford. Myron was preceded in death by his wives: Margaret Bennett and Dolores Bennett; his parents; step-mother, Florence Bennett; son-in-law, Kent Robertson; grandson, Jason Wolcott; and one sister, Rose Mary Bennett. Interment will follow at the Oxford Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Oxford American Legion Post #219 in conjunction with the United States Navy Funeral Honors Team.
