Visitation is 4-7 p.m. today at the mortuary. Mrs. Johnson died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, after a brief illness. She was employed 17 years at Montgomery Ward & Co. and later at Meyer's Grocery, Blue Grass. She also served as Blue Grass town treasurer for eight years. She was born Feb. 1, 1909, in Scott County, to Lafayette and Ida (Brus) Myers. She married Alvin "Jack" Johnson on July 29, 1931, in Davenport. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Blue Grass Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Woman of the church, Old Settler's Descendants, Putnam Museum Guild and Quad-City Times Plus 60 Club. She enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. Memorials may be made to Blue Grass Presbyterian Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, June and Derryl Baustian, Eldridge; granddaughters, Julie Bredow and Lori Burroughs, both of Eldridge, and Brenda Baustian, Davenport; and great-grandchildren, Corey, Jami, Jodi and Bethany Bredow and Amanda Burroughs. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
