Eslow, died at Sheldon Memorial hospital Friday at 5:00 p. m. following a brief illness of four days. She was born in this community November 22, 1871, the daughter of the late George and Lois Keifer. Marshall (MI) Evening Chronicle Saturday, October 22, 1949 Homer Mrs. Myrtle E. Eslow ---Mrs. Myrtle E. Eslow, age 77, widow of the late Seymour C. Eslow, died at Sheldon Memorial hospital Friday at 5:00 p. m. following a brief illness of four days. She was born in this community November 22, 1871, the daughter of the late George and Lois Keifer. A twin sister, died in infancy. ---After attending Homer high school, she graduated from the Albion college school of music in 1891 and later studied music in Detroit. She taugh[sic] music in the schools at Defiance, O., for several years after which she returned to Homer. ---For over 59 consecutive years she taught piano, having a class of 54 pupils at the time of her death. She was a member of the Homer Methodist church, serving as organist and choir director for 25 years. She was a past president of the Ladies Aid, Stella chapter, O. E. E., serving as organist for that organization and was actively affiliated with many social organizations. ---Mr. Eslow died in May, 145. Surviving are several cousins, including Dr. Harold Keifer of Cocord, who made his home with the Eslows for many years. Though she had no immediate family surviving, she was known as having made and kept many close friends. ---Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:00 p. m. from the Westbrook funeral home, with burial following in Fairview cemetery, Homer. Marshall (MI) Evening Chronicle Wednesday, October 26, 1949 Homer Funeral Services For Mrs. S. C. Eslow ---Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Eslow, age 77, widow of the late Seymour C. Eslow, a former Homer postmaster, were held at the Westbrook funeral home here Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. W. W. Slee of Coldwater, a former local Methodist pastor officiating. Burial was on the family lot in Fairview cemetery here. Casket bearers included: Theodore Ethridge of Quincy, Dale Williams of Concord, Dwight Bellows of Coldwater, R. D. Read, Howard Dye and Lloyd Wildt. ---Among those from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Don Dubbs of Warsaw, Ind., Mrs. Howard Cowie and son of Sandusky, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mader, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Lape and mother of Cambria, Mr. and Mrs. Graham Benedict, Roy Easton, Mrs. B. J. Rivett, Miss Madge Vandeburg of Detroit, Mr. and Mrs. Theron Chappel of Parma, Mrs. E. C. Ogden of Battle Creek, Mrs. Gladys Godlove, Mrs. Grace Slaughter of Jackson, Mrs. Fred Durkee, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Champion, Mrs. Roger Davis, Mrs. Harold Ford of Albion, Theodore Ethridge of Quincy, Mrs. Ola Nowlin, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Williams, Dr. and Mrs. Harold Keifer and family of Concord, Mrs. Louis Perrine of Marengo, Mrs. Wetzel of South Albion, Miss Neva Lacey of Ann Arbor, and Dwight Bellows of Coldwater. ~~~~~~~~ Father: George H.
