A memorial service was held Wednesday, June 8, at the First Christian Church. Myrtle was born Jan. 19, 1926, in Spokane, Wash. She grew up in Turner, Mont. She attended Northern Montana College in Havre and taught school for one year. During the war years she worked on the west coast. She then returned to Montana and worked at the east base at Great Falls as a secretary. She married Truman Irwin. She raised their son, Kerry, who preceded her in death. She lived in Billings where she worked in a film processing studio. More than 30 years ago she moved to Fort Benton. She worked for selective service, Fort Benton High School, and then at the courthouse. Myrtle had a love for little children, was an avid sports fan and enjoyed rodeos. In the evening she enjoyed late night radio talk shows. She was one of eight children and only two of them remain. She is survived by a brother, Vern Olson of Climax, Sask.; and a sister, Ruth Rienhart, Chinook, Mont. --- Parents: Oliver Olson and Dina Danielson
