Description	:	Mrs. Myrtle Louise Jackson (Wynder) of Eckville, Alberta, beloved wife of the Late William 'Bill' John Jackson, passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Read More	Mrs. Myrtle Louise Jackson (Wynder) of Eckville, Alberta, beloved wife of the Late William 'Bill' John Jackson, passed away peacefully at the Rimbey Hospital and Care Centre, Rimbey on Sunday, March 16, 2008 at the age of 87 years. Myrtle was born on September 15, 1920 in Cardston, Alberta to Cecil and Bertha Wynder. She attended school in Beazer, Hillspring and Cardston and then went to the Calgary Normal School to obtain her teacher training. Education was important to Myrtle, and she started teaching school in Lone Rock and several other Southern Alberta communities thereafter. Myrtle was united in marriage to William 'Bill' Jackson in April, 1951, and they resided in Welling, moving around to various constructions jobs in Kitimat, B.C. and in Red Deer. In their 27 years of marriage, they were blessed with two children, Shelley and Perry. In November, 1964, Myrtle and Bill bought their first farm at Gimlet and Myrtle taught school in Rimbey, later transferring to the Leslieville School where she taught until her retirement in 1973. Myrtle kept busy quilting large or small projects, making sure all family members had the comfort of one of her beautiful quilts. She also loved to do genealogy and was a very ardent member of the Latter-day Saints Church, holding various positions of leadership and serving a mission at the Washington Temple in her lifetime. Myrtle also loved to volunteer at community events, especially flipping pancakes at the annual Gimlet pancake supper; and she also enjoyed traveling - from seeing family, to traveling across the seas to Jerusalem. She most of all loved having her grandchildren around her, looking after each of them while their mothers worked, and keeping journals and a picture book for each of them. Myrtle stayed on the farm in Gimlet until 2003, moving to the Eckville Manor and then into the Rimbey Care Centre where she resided until her passing. Myrtle is survived by her loving family, and will be forever remembered by her daughter, Shelley (Gord) Dyrland; and her son, Perry (Tami) Jackson, all of Eckville; as well as her cherished grandchildren, Jasmine (Brooke) Teed of Rocky Mountain House; Ashton (Jody) Teed of Grande Prairie; Whitney (Matt) Wild, also of Rocky Mountain House; Renauda Clemmer-Dyrland, Bret, Lisa, and Erin Dyrland, Ashley Jackson, Raelynn Jackson And Cody Jackson (Aimie Engen), all of Eckville. She will also be lovingly remembered by her brothers, Reed (Nadine) Wynder; and Lynn (Carol) Wynder, all of Hillspring, Alberta; her sister, Lois Hornberger of Orem, Utah; her sisters-in-law, Helen Wynder of Mountain View, Alberta; and Leslie Wynder of Invermere, B.C.; in addition to the extended families of the Late George and Lillian Peterson; the Late William 'Bill' and Agnes Jackson; the Late Art and the Late Marlene Jackson; Robert (Barbara) Jackson; and Jim Jackson. Myrtle was predeceased by her loving husband, Bill who passed away on March 17, 1978; her parents, Cecil and Bertha Wynder; her brothers, Kaye and Duane Wynder; her brother-in-law, Leon Hornberger; and her son-in-law, Neal Clemmer. Public Funeral Service in Celebration of Myrtle's Life was held at the Gilby Community Hall, Gilby on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. with Mr. Mark Hornberger officiating.
