Read More	The Nelson Gazette (Nelson, NE), Thursday, December 28, 1944; pg. 1 Myrtle Mae Smith Blau was born March 30, 1892, near Deweese, Nebr., and passed away December 21, 1944, at the Brodstone Hospital, in Superior, Nebr., at the age of 52 years, 8 months and 21 days. She was the daughter of Frank and Anna Smith; her father preceded her in death in 1932. Mrs. Blau was baptized and became a member of the Christian Church of Nelson, in 1909. She was united in marriage to Carl Ludwig Blau March 22, 1911. To this union were born three sons: Elmer of Fairfield, Wilber at home, and Floyd (sic) who is overseas with the 3rd Army. In her passing she leaves to mourn: her husband, three sons, three grandchildren, her mother Mrs. Anna Smith of Nelson; two brothers, two sisters, Elmer Smith of Chareton (sic), Bertha Brennfoeder (sic) of Nelson, Ernest Smith and Clara Gerdes of Edgar, and a host of other relatives and friends. One sister, Blanche, preceded her in death in 1934. The funeral was held Sunday af- ice (NOTE: typed as written in newspaper) in the Methodist church (sic), Rev. C.M. Foust officiating; burial in the Nelson cemetery (sic). In Appreciation We desire to express our grateful appreciation of the many kindnesses shown us at the time of the death of our dear wife and mother. Carl Ludwig Blau and Children.
