Mrs Neary formerly Miss Ann Pease, was born Oct 6 1843 at Rushville, Ind., a daughter of Andrew and Agnes Pease. She was one of a family of 12 children. Death resulting from a complication of ailments occurred at 6 am and ended an illness which had endured for several weeks. Mrs Neary formerly Miss Ann Pease, was born Oct 6 1843 at Rushville, Ind., a daughter of Andrew and Agnes Pease. She was one of a family of 12 children. After reaching womanhood at Rushville she was married there Aug 3 1860, to Mr. Neary. they moved during their early married life, to Clinton, IL., where they remained for only a short time before coming to Cass co, IA., Mrs Neary had lived in the county for 58 years, most of which time was spent in or near Cumberland. She was revered by the entire community in her younger years as a civic as well as a social leader. Mr. Neary died here April 30 1915, since his death she had lived with her children. The survivors are four children, Mrs Fred Mills of Massena, John Neary of Dalton, NE., Mrs. T.G. Coffee of Des Moines, and Emmert Neary of Cumberland; one brother, Thomas Pease of Trenton, MO., and one sister Mrs. Alice Ayer of Chicago. There also are 50 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, making a total of 86 living defendants. Four children died in infancy, and three, Charles, Mark and Mrs Vera Coughlin in later years. Funeral arrangements have not been definitely completed, it was announced, but the services probably will be held at 10 o'clock Thursday morning at the Reno Catholic Church. The Rev. D D Dower is expected to officiate. Burial will be in the Reno Cemetery.
