NANNIE EDMONDSON LAIRD Mrs. Nannie Edmondson Laird died at 9 o'clock yesterday morning at her home 410 West Main Street. She had been in failing health for a year or more, but seemed on the road to recovery until Wednesday afternoon, when she suffered a relapse, from which she did not rally. The end came quietly and without suffering. Mrs. Laird had lived in Richmond ten years and was the widow of David Edward Laird, of Rockbridge. She leaves five sons--David, manager of the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company; E.C. Laird, secretary and treasurer of the Southern Manufacturing Company; Francis Hamilton; Parry McCluer and Robert Gilmore Laird, of this city. Mrs. Laird was a prominent member of the Second Presbyterian church and was widely known throughout the city and state. She was the daughter of the late Robert C. McCluer, of Rockbridge, and spent part of her early life in Lexington. She is survived by several brothers and sisters--Prof. J.P. McCluer, Mrs. Joseph Paxton; Mrs. Gilmore of Staunton, and Mrs. Henry R. Laird of Williamsburg. The burial will be in Lexington, wither the body will be carried by rail. Before its departure, Dr. Russell Cecil will officiate at the funeral services to be held in the house at 9 o'clock this morning. The immediate family will accompany the body on the 10:20 Chesapeake and Ohio train and the pall-bearers who will bear the body to the train are: Mr. E.G. Leigh, Jr., Mrs. S.H. Hawes, Mr. W.R. Reed, Mr. J.P. Davidson, Mr. J.W. Young, Mr. T. William Pendleton Pemberton, Mr. James L. Anderson, Mr. W. L. Wright and Mr. Richard Morris. The body will reach Lexington at 6:35 this evening and will rest in the Lexington Presbyterian Church over night. The funeral services in the church at Lexington will take place at 11 o'clock Saturday morning, Dr. James A. Quarles officiating. The pall-bearers at Lexington will be: Capt. J.P. Moore, Mr. Frank Moore, Mr. Paul M. Penick, Hon. Greenlee D. Letcher, Mr. S.R. Moore, Dr. Robert Glasgow, Mr. George White, Dr. Hamilton Campbell, all of Lexington.
