Hays [Hayes], was born December 24, 1857, at Elderville, Virginia, and died at the home of her son, Fred Adamson, at Miller, Iowa. February 21, 1920, age 62 years, 1 month and 27 days. Hays [Hayes], was born December 24, 1857, at Elderville, Virginia, and died at the home of her son, Fred Adamson, at Miller, Iowa. February 21, 1920, age 62 years, 1 month and 27 days. Nancy Elizabeth moved with her parents to the farm near Palmyra, Iowa, when a small child, where she grew to womanhood and was united in marriage to Owen Adamson, of Ackworth, Iowa, May 7, 1881. To this union were born four children: Fred Adamson, of Miller, Iowa; Pearl Adamson, who died at the age of ten years; Mrs. Florence Wood of Spring Hill, Iowa; and Franke Adamson, who died in infancy. In addition to her children she leaves to mourn her departure an aged mother, three grandchildren, five sisters and one brother, and a host of friends. She united with the M.E. church of Spring Hill, of which she remained a faithful member until the time of her death. She was a devoted mother, always considerate of the welfare of her children, and will be greatly missed by her relatives and friends. The body was brought to Spring Hill from Miller, Iowa, Tuesday morning, for interment. Funeral services were held at the M.E. church Tuesday, February 24th, conducted by the Rev. Zumsteg, after which the body was laid to rest in the Webb Cemetery, north of town. # # # Thurs., February 26, 1920 Indianola Herald Spring Hill - The neighborhood was shocked last Saturday to hear of the death of Mrs. Adamson. She had gone to Miller, Iowa, to visit her son, Fred, and while there died. The remains were brought back to Spring Hill Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held in the M.E. church and burial at the Webb cemetery beside her husband and children. # # # Note: Variance in date of birth on stone vs. obituary.
