Description	:	Nancy Emma Cowan, aged 46, daughter of the late George T. and Margaret Wylie Cowan, of this place, died Tuesday night at 11:30 o'clock at the home of her brother Oscar Cowan, 312 Grant Street. Her death followed a lingering illness, five weeks of which she had been confined to bed. The deceased was born in Chartiers township, where she received her early education, and later was a student at Jefferson Academy, Canonsburg. Her death followed a lingering illness, five weeks of which she had been confined to bed. The deceased was born in Chartiers township, where she received her early education, and later was a student at Jefferson Academy, Canonsburg. She was a girl of sterling character, being a consistent member of the First United Presbyterian church where she was active in many organizations. Miss Cowan had been a teacher in the Sunday School since girlhood, and for years was president of the Sunshine class, and was also active in the Ora Haft Mission Circle as long as her health permitted. She was of a cheerful disposition and leaves a wide circle of friends, many of whom she won through her work as a seamstress. Two brothers and one sister survive, Oscar S. and Archie W. Cowan, both of Houston; and Mary, wife of Marshall Jones, of the Hill Church region. Funeral services will be held at the late home, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of the deceased's pastor, Rev. W. F. Harkey. Interment will be in the Oak Spring cemetery, Canonsburg.
