Description	:	Lincoln Beacon, Oct 28 1897 Mrs. Nancy Jane Jamison, better known as "Aunt Nancy" aged 85 years, 7 months and 8 days, died at her home in Madison township, Lincoln County, Oct. 20, 1897. She was born in Miflin county Pa, Feb. 22,1812, her maiden name being Clayton. She was married in Blair Co., Pa., in 1850 to John Jamison. They settled in Douglass county, Kans, in 1858. She was born in Miflin county Pa, Feb. 22,1812, her maiden name being Clayton. She was married in Blair Co., Pa., in 1850 to John Jamison. They settled in Douglass county, Kans, in 1858. There they lost all that could be taken or destroyed by the Quantrill raiders in 1862, The following November Mr. Jamison died. Mrs. Jamison came to Madison township, Lincoln county, in 1879. Few women enjoyed the love and respect of all who knew hew as Aunt Nancy did, and few in the common walks of life ever fed more- none ever left her house cold or hungry. Until a few years ago she had considerable ready means, and none were ever more pleased to help her friends. Many living can well remember the favors they have received from her hands. Though many friends attended her in her sickness and at the funeral, there were but few relatives among them-a stepdaughter from Kansas City, and one niece and her family. Rev. L. W. Fitzwater preached to a very large and sad audience. The interment was made in the Price cemetery in Ottawa county, by the side of a sister who died 11 years ago, in her 88th year. Sister to Margaret Clayton Mitchell buried this cemetery.
