Description	:	One of the early residents of this section and the last member of one of the district's pioneer families, Mrs. Nancy Jane McPherson McConnell died at her home near Morganza at 4:40 a. m. today after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of the late J. A. McConnell, prominent North Strabane farmer and stock breeder, who died Oct. 24, 1938. She was the widow of the late J. A. McConnell, prominent North Strabane farmer and stock breeder, who died Oct. 24, 1938. She had been in poor health for several years and suffered a stroke on Saturday. Mrs. McConnell was born in Cecil township on April 1, 1862 and had lived in this district all her life. She was the daughter of the late William and Sarah Anne Park McPherson. She was united in marriage 57 years ago and had spent her entire life since that time on the farm on which she died this morning. She was the last surviving member of a family of eight. Mrs. McConnell was a member of the Canonsburg U. P. church. Surviving are three children, Mrs. D. S. Pollock of Canonsburg, Walter S. McConnell at home, and John Arthur McConnell of Boston. A grandchild, Mary Gail McConnell also survives. The body has been removed to the George A. Hinton funeral home where friends will be received until time for funeral services which will be held there Thursday, Dec. 19, in .charge of her pastor, the Rev. H. Ross Hume.
