Read More	Nancy Louise (Ross) Paisley, 85, of Oshkosh passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Regional West Garden County Hospital in Oshkosh. Nancy was born January 10, 1936 in Broadwater, NE, the daughter of John O. and Fanny (Wells) Ross. In 1942 John accepted a position with Federal Land Bank, and the family moved to Oshkosh, NE. Nancy graduated from Garden County High School in 1954 and married Ira Richard (Dick) Paisley on June 27th at the United Methodist Church. After a short stay in an apartment in Oshkosh, the couple moved to the family farm and ranch East of Oshkosh. Initially, Nancy lived in a trailer next to Ira S. and Daisy Paisley, with their first son, Richard, born while Dick was stationed in Germany. Sons David, John and Steve followed. Just as intense heat and pressure creates diamonds, hard work and stresses associated with farming and ranching creates people with extraordinary character, work ethic and perseverance. Nancy was active in the community, volunteering as pianist for the United Methodist Church, Job's Daughters, Easter Contata and Ash Hollow Pageant. She served various roles on church boards and United Methodist Women, Nebraska Cattlewomen (Cowbelles) and Job's Daughters. Additional jobs included periods working at the Shady Rest Motel as well as the Garden County Assessor's office. Nancy enjoyed sewing and quilting, monthly card club, gardening, and preparing food for her family. She adored her family, loved fresh cut flower displays, and a good jar of chokecherry jelly. Nancy seemed to always be in motion, with a batch of cookies in the oven, a loaf of bread rising, a load of laundry on the line, and water running in the garden. She was the definition of "no-fuss", always direct and to the point. With no daughters of her own, she was always fond of her daughters-in-law and the (somewhat rare) granddaughters. Survivors include sons Richard (Dorene) of Oshkosh, David of Fort Collins CO, John (Angie) of Imperial, NE, and Steve (Carrie) of Wheatland, WY. Twelve grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Ira R (Dick) Paisley and sisters Dorothy Patrick and Kathryn Roberts. Burial will follow in the Ash Hollow Cemetery near Lewellen.
