Description	:	Mrs. Thomas Holdsworth, a former well known resident of this community, was found dead in her bed last Wednesday morning, at her home at Oakdale, Neb. Heart failure is assigned as the cause of her sudden death. She was about 70 years of age. She had been in rather poor health for some time and her physician came to see her Tuesday evening, but her condition was not considered at all alarming. She rested well during the evening, but when Mr. Holdsworth went to her room the following morning he discovered that life had flown some time... Read More	Mrs. Thomas Holdsworth, a former well known resident of this community, was found dead in her bed last Wednesday morning, at her home at Oakdale, Neb. Heart failure is assigned as the cause of her sudden death. She was about 70 years of age. She had been in rather poor health for some time and her physician came to see her Tuesday evening, but her condition was not considered at all alarming. She rested well during the evening, but when Mr. Holdsworth went to her room the following morning he discovered that life had flown some time during the night. She passed away as if in peaceful sleep. Mr. Holdsworth, accompanied by their Oakdale pastor and Mr. and Mrs. George Williams of Burke, S. D., and Mrs. Jesse Williams and daughter of Indiana, brought the body to Hawarden Saturday for burial. Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in this city at three o'clock Saturday afternoon and interment was made in Grace Hill cemetery. Her pastor from Oakdale, assisted by Rev. Kettle, pastor of the M. E. church of Ireton, conducted the funeral services. Bedsides the bereaved husband she leaves one son, George Williams, of Burke, S. D., to mourn her death. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. S. E. Cox of Hawarden and one sister who resides in California. The deceased was a resident of Virginia township, Union county, for many years and was quite well known here. She and her husband moved to Nebraska a number of years ago, but returned here occasionally for a visit and kept in touch with their old neighbors and friends. Her death will be mourned by many friends besides those of the family circle. Hawarden Independent 8/19/1920
