C. Hollingsworth, 203 North Second Avenue. Mrs. Hollingsworth had been failing rapidly for three weeks and her death was not unexpected. The death of her daughter, Mrs. Charity A. Sartorius, who died a few months ago, was a very severe blow to the aged mother, and the shock tended to hasten her death, which was caused by the ailments of old age. Mrs. Hollingsworth was born Nancy Vernon Mote. Sept. 20, 1828, in Dayton, Ohio. She was married to Yates Hollingsworth at Milton, Okla., March 18, 1846. Mr. and Mrs. Hollingsworth went to Indiana soon after their marriage and lived there for several years. On Nov. 3, 1863, they came to Iowa and settled in LeGrand, where they lived until thirty-five years ago when they came to this city. Mr. Hollingsworth died here August 19, 1905. Mrs. Hollingsworth is survived by three sons, Elijah, William and Jordan C. Hollingsworth, of this city and four daughters, Mrs. Rachel Phay, Detroit Mich.; Mrs. Ida Hayes, City; Mrs. Ella Phay, Hermiston, Ore., and Mrs. Jennie Pettigrew, Valentine Neb. One brother, J. J. Mote of LeGrand, also survives Mrs. Hollingsworth. The funeral will be held from the residence, 203 North Second Avenue, Tuesday afternoon at 2 O,Clock *********** Times Republican, Marshalltown, Iowa, Wednesday, August 6, 1913 The funeral of Mrs. Nancy V Hollingsworth was held from the home, 203 North Second Avenue, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon. Rev. G. E. Marsh officiated, and the service was largely attended. Many flowers were sent, including pieces from Electric Rebekah Lodge No. 40 and the Seventh Day Adventists church. The pall bearers: all of whom were granddaughters of Mrs. Hollingsworth, were Mesdames J. C. Crellin, H. S. Stump, George Fosnacht, Sopia Wietholter, and Vivian Carlson and Miss Vesta Hollingsworth. The flower bearers were Misses Hattie Gregwire and Emily and Helen Hollingsworth. Misses Marletta Sellers and Inez Crellin sang. Burial was in Riverside. I visited the cemetery and unfortunately there are no headstones, but there are cemetery records. Her parents were Asa Mote and Charity North
