Natalee Mmae Babcock was born March 21, 1941 in Blanca, CO to Charles and Francis (Taylor) Babcock. At the age of 14 she moved with her family to Arizona, where she met Otis Parmely. Parmely, 46, died Sunday, September 22, 1987 at the Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls. Natalee Mmae Babcock was born March 21, 1941 in Blanca, CO to Charles and Francis (Taylor) Babcock. At the age of 14 she moved with her family to Arizona, where she met Otis Parmely. They married December 31, 1962, they recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They moved to rural Ree Heights, where they lived from 1970-1986, when they moved into Miller. She worked the past 13 years at the Miller Press as a typesetter. As an active member of the Nazarene Church, she was president of NWMS, NYI, church secretary, Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher, choir member and participated in the Nazarene Church's service at Prairie Good Samaritan center. She was also a pianist and organist for the Nazarene Church. Other activities included bowling, knitting, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband, Otis, M. Parmely; three children, Mrs. Ronald (Debbie) Steadmon, Jim Parmely and his wife Nancy and Tena Parmely, all of Miller; two step-daughters, Kathy Salu, Jackson, MS and Skyla Persche, Belle Fourche; one brother, Ralph Babcock, New Orleans, LA; one half-brother, Robert Babcock, Belleflower, CA; eight grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents and one brother-in-law. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the church of the Nazarene with Rev. Harold Johnson and Rev. Dave Baker officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Reck Funeral Home. Burial will be in the GAR Cemetery, Miller. Active pallbearers will be Lyle Ford, Craig Engel, Lonny Parmely, Scotty Parmely, Surn Starks, Dwayne Parmely, Duran Swaney and Ahrlin Engel.
