Description	:	Natalie Norma (Viano) Galichia Huber, 98, of Pittsburg, Kansas formerly of Arma, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at via Christi Village in Pittsburg, Kansas where she had been a residence since 2004. Mrs. Huber was born November 12,1918 in Frontenac, Kansas at the home of her grandparents, Batista "Bob" and Lidia (Bergers) Viano the daughter of Nathaniel (Nate) and Anna (Yartz) Viano the day after the Armistice ending World War I. Read More	Natalie Norma (Viano) Galichia Huber, 98, of Pittsburg, Kansas formerly of Arma, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, April 28, 2017 at via Christi Village in Pittsburg, Kansas where she had been a residence since 2004. Mrs. Huber was born November 12,1918 in Frontenac, Kansas at the home of her grandparents, Batista "Bob" and Lidia (Bergers) Viano the daughter of Nathaniel (Nate) and Anna (Yartz) Viano the day after the Armistice ending World War I. Her early childhood years were spent in Arcadia and Coalvale, Kansas where her father worked in the coal mines and later co-owned the Ginardi, Viano, and Yartz Mine. When the mine closed, the family moved to a farm near Arma, Kansas in 1936 and prior to her marriage attened what is now Pittsburg State University where she worked in one of the college offices. She married Joe Galichia on December 25, 1937 in Girard, Kansas. They later divorced. She later married Gayhardt "Gay" Huber on June 17, 1977 at the Arma United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death April 7, 2000. Her primary occupation was that of farm-wife, mother, and homemaker. The Galichia family received several farm-related awards throughout the 1950s and 1960s. Their first farm was located on Route 1, Farlington, Kansas near Englevale. In 1945, they moved to a farm on Route 3, Girard, Kansas, northwest of Arma, where Natalie lived until 1984 when she moved to a residence near Arma. She lived there until moving to Via Christi Village. She was a member of the Arma United Methodist Church and served as president of the WSCS and was a sponsor of the youth group. She was an early member of the Home Boosters Home Demonstration Unit in Arma and was a long-time member of the Busy Bee Quilting Club of rural Girard. She also belonged to the Rebekah's Lodge in Arma. She was a member of the Breast Cancer Support Groups in both Girard and Pittsburg. She is survived by one son, Dr. Joseph Galichia and his wife Stella, of Wichita and two daughters, Sharon Brandenburg and her husband Robert of Parsons, and Dr. Mary Carol Pomatto and her husband Robert of Pittsburg, seven grandchildren, Stephanie Galichia of Wichita, Kansas, Jill Brandenburg Adams and her husband David of Topeka, Kansas, Paul Galichia and his wife Katie of Venice, California, Bridget Brandenburg Foster and her husband Terry of Crystal Lake Illinois, Christine Galichia of Wichita, Jacquelyn Pomatto Bernhardt and her husband Eric of Olathe, and Isabella Galichia of Wichita, eight great grandchildren, Owen, Nathan, and Ryan Foster, Garrett and Brandon Adams, Luke and Adelyn Bernhardt, and Poppy Galichia. Additional survivors include a step-son, Bradley Huber and his wife, Gretchen of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin and a stepdaughter, Brenda Coulter and her husband Ken of Owasso, Oklahoma. Two nephews also survive, John David Bozich and his wife Patricia "Patti" Neeland of Pittsburg and Alan Bozich and his wife Terri of Arma. She is also survived by eight step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Virginia Viano Bazin Bozich, three step-sons, Thomas, David, and Gordon Huber, a step-daughter, Mary Huber Zimmerman. She was also preceded in death by two brother-in-laws, Lawrence Bazin who was killed in action in World War II and John Bozich. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Arma United Methodist Church with Rev. Glenn Duderstadt and Rev. K. Lee officiating. Burial will be at the Pittsburg Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Bedene Funeral Home at Arma, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to the Arma United Methodist Church. Donations may be sent to or left at the Bedene Funeral Home, 517 E. Washington, Box 621, Arma, Kansas 66712.
