Description	:	Nathaniel was the son of Nathaniel Stanley Jr. and Abigail Hall of Winthrop, Maine. He was married in Readfield, Maine (formerly a part of Winthrop) on 29 Dec 1794 to Lusannah (called Lucy) FULLER, b. c. May 1777 (per age at death), d. Belfast, ME 26 Nov 1851, the daughter of Consider Fuller and Lydia Bryant of Plymouth, Mass. (when Consider died, Lydia remarried and came to Maine with her second husband). Read More	Nathaniel was the son of Nathaniel Stanley Jr. and Abigail Hall of Winthrop, Maine. He was married in Readfield, Maine (formerly a part of Winthrop) on 29 Dec 1794 to Lusannah (called Lucy) FULLER, b. c. May 1777 (per age at death), d. Belfast, ME 26 Nov 1851, the daughter of Consider Fuller and Lydia Bryant of Plymouth, Mass. (when Consider died, Lydia remarried and came to Maine with her second husband). The family was living in Harlem where Nathaniel was taxed on 1 Oct 1798, owning 50 acres valued at $188, but they may have also lived in nearby Vassalboro where the older children are thought to have been born. By 1802 they were living in Belfast, Maine, where Nathaniel had a grist mill. In 1810 he signed a petition to found the First Baptist Church, and he was subsequently chosen as clerk of the church. Stanley Road in Belfast was named for him. The family was still in Belfast in 1820 when enumerated on the federal census, but by 1830 they were in Ellsworth, Maine, where they appear on the censuses for that year and also 1840. Children: * Nathan, b. c. 1795. On 28 Nov 1812 Nathan Stanley and Asel Stanley joined Capt. Noah Miller's company of volunteers in Col. Ulmer's regiment from Belfast. They were both privates, and listed as musicians. They served at Fort Sullivan at Eastport, and were discharged 28 Nov 1813. * Patty, b. c. 1796, d. 1812, aged 16 * Asel, b. Vassalboro, ME c. 1797 (based on gravestone age), m. Octavia NICKELS * child, b. c. Feb 1801, d. 10 July 1802, aged 18 months (church record?) * Clarissa, b. Belfast 5 Sep 1802, m. 30 April 1822 Rufus BERRY of Unity, ME and had four children born from 1824 to 1833. * Sophronia, b. Belfast 22 Oct 1804, m. 22 May 1823 Daniel F. CROXFORD who d. Newburg, ME 1833, the son of John Croxford and Wilmot Foster. They had three known children. * Ruel, b. Belfast 26 Aug 1807, d. there 29 Jan 1872, and m. (1) 15 Sep 1832 Mary Jane SNELL who d. 21 Nov 1841; m. (2) 16 May 1843 Sarah STONE from Troy. * Joseph, b. Belfast 18 June 1809, d. Ellsworth, ME 27 Jan 1872, and m. 3 Feb 1842 Mary Ann Carter, b. W. Ellsworth 10 Dec 1813, d. Hancock, Hancock Co., ME 9 Feb 1885, daughter of James C. Carter and Mary Elizabeth Davis.
