Description	:	Nedra Cooke Shelton, 64, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013. She was born on March 29, 1949, to the late Foster and Eleanor Parries Cooke. Nedra was an administrative assistant at Lees-McRae College on the campus of Surry Community College. She also made many friends during her time working at the Derby Restaurant, Armtex, Inc., and Pilot Knob Park. She was a talented artist and enjoyed spending time with her friends as well as the children and grandchildren. Nedra also enjoyed the occasional round of golf before her health declined. She was born on March 29, 1949, to the late Foster and Eleanor Parries Cooke. Nedra was an administrative assistant at Lees-McRae College on the campus of Surry Community College. Surviving to cherish her memory are her devoted husband, Teddy; a daughter, Suzanne Fuehler; two sons and daughters-in-law, Scott and Kim Shelton and Joel and Keri Shelton; seven grandchildren, Rami Shelton, Ada Shelton, Alex Shelton, Karenna Shelton, Clara Fuehler, Miles Fuehler and Linnie Fuehler; two sisters, Ann Willard and Brenda Chilton; one brother, Clindon "Wyatt" Cooke. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Faye Bottoms; and one brother, Doug Cooke. Funeral services will be on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview United Methodist Church with Rev. David Cooke. Interment will be in the church cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 26, 2013, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. Floral tributes will be accepted or memorials may be made to Fairview United Methodist Church (Piano fund), 3692 Quaker Church Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043 or Lees McRae College, Surry Community College campus, office of Advancement, PO Box 128.
