Description	:	Nelda June Yost was born June 19, 1922 on her grandparents, Augusta and Anna (Seefield) Statz farm 5 miles north and 3/4 mile east of Nelson, Nebraska to John and Myrtle (Jones) Statz. She departed this life on June 26, 2011 at the age of 89 while in the Sutton Community Home, Sutton, Nebraska. Read More	Nelda June Yost was born June 19, 1922 on her grandparents, Augusta and Anna (Seefield) Statz farm 5 miles north and 3/4 mile east of Nelson, Nebraska to John and Myrtle (Jones) Statz. She departed this life on June 26, 2011 at the age of 89 while in the Sutton Community Home, Sutton, Nebraska. June was baptized as an infant at the United Brethren Church 1 3/4 miles West of her home. In 1928 her family moved to a farm east of Fairfield. She attended Sandy Valley and Wolf Elementary Schools. She then attended Fairfield High School until 1939 when along with her family she moved southeast of Sutton. June graduated with the class of 1940. She taught District No. 3 at Spring Ranch and District No. 89 in Fillmore County. June was baptized (NOTE: I wonder if this should have been confirmed, but it is typed as written in newspaper) at the Christian Church in Fairfield at age 14. She also was a member of the Busy Bees 4-H Club, which gave her the opportunity to go to Lincoln to judge home economics and attend Mr. Gads's banquet. She moved her church membership to Sutton Salem United Methodist Church in 1940 and has been an active member for those 61 years. On June 6, 1943 she married Vernon Yost at her parent's home. They moved to the farm south of Sutton where they resided for many years. She was a member of the Kitchen Klatter Klub for 60 years and served on the Clay County Extension Board. She belonged to the General Federation of Women's Clubs and the Sutton Club for many years. June and Vernon were 4-H leaders for 12 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Vernon, son Robert, her parents, and sisters Barbara Jean Miller and Twila DeLunger. She is survived by her son Richard of rural Edgar, daughters-in-law Jeanine Yost of Lincoln, and Donna Yost & husband James Buller of Lincoln, 2 sisters-in-law Melva Stertz of Edgar and Rogene & husband Hugh Jones of Quincy, IL. brother-in-law Maurice and wife Judy Yost of Sutton, and brother-in-law Forrest and wife Ruth DeLunger of Bricelyn, MN; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grand children, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Services were held on Wednesday June 29, 2011 at Salem United Methodist Church in Sutton with Rev. Dean Joy & Rev. Lee Wigert officiating.
