MRS. WILLIAM McCALLA PASSED AWAY TUESDAY. This community was saddened by the death of Mrs. Wm. McCalla which occurred at her home in this city Tuesday, September 22, following an illness of some time. She was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. N. Hamilton, early day residents of Pawnee City. She came with her parents to Pawnee City in 1885 as a girl of 16, and this had been her home for the past fifty-seven years. She was married to Wm. McCalla July 18, 1890, at DuBois. Mrs. McCalla was a woman of fine christian character, a faithful wife, a kind neighbor and loving mother. She was a member of the Christian church in this city for over fifty years and took an active part in all its activities. Admired and held in high esteem by all who knew her, she will be missed by her many friends. She was 70 years of age at the time of her death. Funeral services will be held at the home in Pawnee City Thursday afternoon, September 24, at two o'clock, and interment will be in the Pawnee City cemetery. Surviving are her husband, one son Lloyd, of Omaha; three brothers, Lew and Oliver, Table Rock, and Almon, Homer, Nebr.; and eight grandchildren.
