In her early years she attended grade school in Boone, Iowa where she also studied music with Miss Bibbs. Later she attended Drake University where she took a course in piano and painting. Read More	Dayton Review August 22, 1957 NELLIE HARRISON Nellie Annette Swanson Harrison, daughter of Anthony and Martha Engstrom, was born Oct. 7, 1875 at Mineral Ridge, Iowa and passed away Sunday, August 5 at her home in Stratford. In her early years she attended grade school in Boone, Iowa where she also studied music with Miss Bibbs. Later she attended Drake University where she took a course in piano and painting. She taught music for a number of years in and around Stratford and in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was a member of the Stratford Methodist Church where she served as organist for many years. She attended church services as long as her health permitted. On November 16, 1926, she was united in marriage to George Harrison at the Congregational church in St. Paul, Minnesota. They made their home in Stratford. She was preceded in death by her husband, her father, her mother and brother. She is survived by a sister, Miss Belle Swanson, of St. Paul, Minnesota. Her sunny disposition won for her many friends by whom she will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held Aug. 6, 1957, at Calvary Methodist Church, in Stratford, Iowa at 2 o'clock with Rev. Robert Ruppert in charge. Mrs. Harold Westrum was soloist with Mrs. Cleo Bell playing the organ accompaniments. Pallbearers were: Lester Vinson; Dale Kane; Orland Johnson; Denver Nuckolls; Dayton Passmore and Leonard Bergman. Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery with Hanson Funeral Home in charge.
