Funeral services were held Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church of Little Rock, with the Reverend Marvyn Schultz officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery of Little Rock. Mrs. Christians, the former Nellie Blanche Lauber, was born near Tipton July 9, 1895. She moved with her parents, William and Margaret Lauber, to a farm near Sibley in 1901 and later moved to the Little Rock area. She attended school at Little Rock and Sibley. On January 1, 1914, she was married to Charles Counsell. The couple had two children, Russell and Charnelle, and the family lived on a farm near Little Rock until Counsel's death March 3, 1942. On February 12, 1944, she married Fred Christians at Rushmore, Minnesota and they lived at Little Rock until 1948, when they moved to Sibley, where they have since made their home. She worked for several years in the J. C. Penney store and the Deibner Rexall Drugstore in Sibley. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Little Rock and the Rebekah Lodge of Little Rock. Survivors are her husband; a daughter Charnelle, Mrs. Henry Williams of Spirit Lake; two grandsons and a step daughter, Ruth, Mrs. Vernon Peters of Marshalltown.
