Dean Donner and Rev. Dean Donner and Rev. I Helm officiating. A trio, Mrs. Iva Fann, Mrs. Ila Dunne and Mr. Marlin Britton, sang " God Will Take Care of You" and "Nearer My God to Thee" with Miss Cherryl Steckel organist. Pallbearers, nephews of the deceased were Albert Bolli, Clarence Bolli, Howard Bolli, Eldon Bolli, Roland Britton and Kenneth Draver. Interment was at the Kent cemerty. Nellie Della Peters, daughter of Albert and Orrissa Britton, was born August 4, 1885 at Keokuk, Iowa, and passed away at the Burwell hospital October 12, 1961, at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 8 days. The Britton family moved to Kansas while Nellie was a small baby, then coming on to Nebraska in a covered wagon in 1888, and locating on a farm two miles northeast of Taylor. This, the Britton ranch, was her home for the next number of years. She attended the Taylor school, then was a school teacher for several years in Loup County schools. On December 13, 1905, Miss Nellie Britton and Joh W. Peters were united in marriage in a ceremony at the home of her parents. They lived on the Peters ranch on the Calamus Rivera for a short while before moving to Weeping Water, Nebraska, residing there three years. In 1913 Mr. and Mrs. Peters purchased the farm south of the Kent townsite. They made their home there where their family, a daughter and two sons, grew up, married, and established homes of their own. In the fall of 1944 they retired from the farm, moving to Burwell. Mr. Peters passed away in April, 1945, but she remained in her home there, making friends with young and old, helping and sharing with others as she had done all her life. Her friends called her the Good Samaritan of today. She had accepted Jesus Christ as her Saviour, and for years worked faithfully with her children. She was preceded in death by husband John, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Britton four brothers, Hank, William, Edward and Joe, and one sister, Phoebe Bolli. Survivors are her son, Britton Peters, on the home farm, Delores Lyon of Springfield, Mo and Gordon Peters in Loup County; one sister, Kate Pennington, Rawlins, Wyo, and two brothers, Jack and Tim Britton of Sargent, also seven grandchildren, Joan Ferguson, Denver, Co; Marilyn Sears, St. Paul, Ne; Roland Peters, Ericson; Stanley Lyon, Honolulu, Hawaii; Betty Rice, Springfield, MO; Larry Peters, Omaha, and Linda Peters at home; also five great granddaughers. Relatives attending the funeral from out of town were Mrs. Hildreth Lyon, Springfield, Mo; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Breuer, Callaway; Mr. and Mrs. John Hanson and Frances, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Hanson, and Mrs. Annie Hanson, all of Nehawka; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Hild, Mrs. Henry Hild and Miss Helen Hunter, Plattsmouth; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Peters, Omaha; Mrs. and Mrs. Roland Britton and Randy, Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hansen, Loup City; Mr. and MRs. Don Sears, St. Paul; Mr. and MRs. Howard Bolli and Demaris, Arcadia; Mr. and Mrs. Tim Britton, Sargent; Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Fitzsummons, Cairo; Mr. and Mrs. George Bartholomew, Ainsworth; and Mrs. Della Alder, Valentine.
