She received her education in the Stockton & Overpeck public schools. On Jan. 4, 1911, she was married to Ben Holbrock in St. Joseph Catholic Church & the couple enjoyed many happy years of married life. Mr. Holbrock died Aug. 7, 1943. For many years, Mrs. Holbrock was a member of St. Joseph Church & had taken an active interest in the church activities. She was a member of the St. Ann Ladies Society of St. Joseph Church, the Notre Dame Tabernacle Society. Mrs. Holbrock was a devoted mother & wife & had placed the welfare of her family & her home foremost in her life. In her later years, she had especially enjoyed the presence of her grandchildren. A kind woman, Mrs. Holbrock was known for her thoughtfulness. She for many years had remembered the sick & shutins & visited them in their homes & the hospitals besides sending them greeting cards of good cheer. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George Schallip & Harris Schallip. She leaves one son, Walter Holbrock, Hamilton; two daughters, Mrs Richard (Martha) Rowley & Mrs. Forrest (Elizabeth) Strauthers, both of Hamilton; one sister, Mrs. Katie Augspurger, Williamsdale; nine grandchildren, other relatives & many friends. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 9 am at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 330 Pershing Ave., with Requiem High Mass at St. Joseph Church at 9:30 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday after 4 pm. The St. Ann Ladies Society of St. Joseph Church will conduct memorial services at the funeral home Wednesday at 7 pm.
