Nellie Ora Figert was born in DeKalb, Illinois, August 11, 1875, and died February 12, 1829, at the age of 63 years, 6 months, and one day. With her parents, Henry and Alice Figert, she moved to Iowa in 1885, and located on a farm near Auburn, Iowa. The following spring the family moved to Sheridan township where she has since resided. She was one of a family of five children, two brothers and two sisters. The brothers are J.M. Figert of Mitchell, S.D.; Fred H. Figert, deceased, June 10, 1913; the sisters, Mrs. Edith Pearl Whelan of Glidden; Grace Mae Figert, deceased, March 16, 1919. On March 8, 1899, she was united in marriage to Daniel Lasher. To this union was born four children, Mrs. Alice McIntire, of Lake City; Daniel, Earl, and Ruth, at home. In early life she united with East Liberty M.E. church, her membership was later transferred to Lanesboro. When able she was ever ready to help in time of sickness and trouble, ever forgetful of self in the service of others. She leaves to mourn her death, her husband and four children, a sister and brother, other relatives and a host of friends. The relatives from a distance attending the funeral were: J.M. Figert of Mitchell, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. John Lasher of Letcher, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Anton Mickelson of Mitchell, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. George Martin of Marathon, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Toop and Mr. and Mrs. Alva Toop of Auburn.
