Description	:	Nels Fjeldahl former county commissioner dies Nels A. Fjeldahl, 79, Makoti, former Ward County commissioner, died Sunday, Oct. 14 at a Minot hospital. His funeral will be held today, Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Spring Valley Lutheran Church northeast of Plaza, with, burial in the church cemetery. He was born Jan. 16, 1905, at Berthold, a son of Olaf and Karen Fjeldahl. He was reared in Mandan Township, Ward County, and was employed by the Farmers Union at Berthold until 1937. He farmed for 30 years in Lund Township, Ward County, until he retired and moved back to Makoti in 1975. He was appointed a Ward County commissioner in 1967, and was elected to two terms, serving until his retirement in 1978, He also served on the Ward County Social Service Board for a number of years and was active in the Ward County Red Cross program. He was Lund Township supervisor for many years, served as a director of the Plaza Equity Elevator Company. He was a member of the Makoti Threshers Association and the Makoti Senior Citizens, and a member and trustee at the Spring Valley church. He married Gladys Erickson Nov. 19, 1941, at Minot. She survives along with a son, Nolan, Plaza; four grandchildren; sisters, Annie Fjeldahl, Mrs. Melvin (Emelia) Pederson and Mrs. Ivan (Victoria) Bradley, all Minot, Delia Fjeldahl, Berthold.
