Waters, at Linnburg, September 16, 1914, aged 82 years, 6 months, 4 days. He was an early settler of this county, coming to Linnburg about forty-seven years ago, where he has since lived. Read More	Dayton Review October 1, 1914 OBITUARY Nelson Leonard Turner was born March 12, 1832, at Erie, Pennsylvania, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G. W. Waters, at Linnburg, September 16, 1914, aged 82 years, 6 months, 4 days. He was an early settler of this county, coming to Linnburg about forty-seven years ago, where he has since lived. He was united in marriage at Boone, Iowa, April 13, 1867, to Miss Katherine Eunice Johnson, who preceded him in death in 1881. Four children were born of their union, two fo whom, a son and a daughter, have gone on before him. Two daughters remain, together with ten grandchildren and a great grandson, to mourn his death. His funeral services were held on the 18th, Rev. Bottom conducting the services and his remains were laid to rest in Dayton cemetery. Mr. Turner was a man of independent opinions, was well read upon most subjects of the day, being a natural student and thinker, and took a deep interest in the political, social and religious conditions of the times through which he lived. As one of the pioneers of this county, he underwent much of the hardships of the formative period, and rejoiced in the development it has made. The writer has enjoyed many a pleasant discussion of his quaint philosophy, as he applied them to existing conditions, and he maintained his interest to the last. A host of lifelong friends of the family sympathize with them in their hour of sorrow.
