Rev. Mr. Franklin, of Hartford, conducted the services. Interment was in Maplewood cemetery. The pallbearers were N. Brown, W.A. Smith, George Miller, W.S. Williamson, John Gregory and Peter Hines. Mrs. Buck's maiden name was Nevada Carney. She was born in Emporia November 22, 1857, the year the town was founded. Mrs. Buck is survived by Mr. Buck and five children, W.M. Buck, Mrs. Fannie Turner, Mrs. Bernice Owen, Mrs. Clellah Nichols, of Emporia; and Melvin Buck, of Elsie, Mich. A sister, Mrs. Susan Freshwater; and a brother, G.A. Carney, of Emporia, also survive. Mrs. Buck was a member of the First Christian church.
