Burial was in St. John's cemetery. Son of Rasmus and Nelsigne Jacobsen, Mr. Jacobsen was born in Ringsted, Denmark, Nov. 4, 1868, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in that country. He came to the United States in 1888 and as a young man he worked in the lumber camps in Michigan before coming to Ringsted where he farmed until his retirement in 1936. On April 6, 1894, he was united in marriage to Elsie Marie Mikkelsen in the St. John's Lutheran church by the Reverence Lange. To this union was born eight children. Robert, Clara, Ernest and Harvey, all of Ringsted; Martha of Estherville; Lillian of California and Lawrence and Pauline, deceased. Mr. Jacobsen died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gordon Sandvig. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son, Lawrence and daughter Pauline, who died in infancy. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren.
