At any rate he told the writer that he ran a 'gjastgivargard' in Sweden, and generally associated with prominent people. He was at any rate, a great conversationalist. He first came to U.S. and Lansing, Iowa in 1867 and to Clay County in 1871. He filed on and homesteaded the northwest quarter of Sec. 29, Glenwood township on which he acquired patent Jan 20, 1881. He sold the same to John Johnson Boom, father of William Boom, who eventually became owner of the farm. Rosendahl left the farm there shortly after he sold it and for some time lived in Vermillion. His wife, Brita Johsdotter, born Aug 31, 1831 in Tune, Halsingland, Sweden came here the same time as he did. She died in 1889 in Vermillion. They had one son, Nils Rosendahl, born Dec 6, 1853, in Sweden. He died unmarried at Hepburn, Iowa in 1887 in an accident being associated with Michael Bystrom there in a sawmill. Noah Rosendahl married again in Vermillion, Anna Massea Berklie, born at Sondfjord, Norway near Bergen. (I am omitting the next of kin for her as it is incorrect.) Her date of birth is unknown (1856) but for many years the couple lived in Vermillion and for a few years at Westburg's in Dalesburg, in the little old square house standing at the southeast corner of the premises, finally again moved to Vermillion, later to Lime Grove, Nebraska where Mrs. Rosendahl's brother lived. (Actually her three brothers and two sisters.) Rosendahl died there June 12, 1912. A daughter, Bertina Rosendahl, was born in the latter marriage. She in turn married in Nebraska (her husband was Carl Lukken) and had in all nine children. Mrs. Rosendahl also died at Lime Grove, Nebraska the date unknown. (1934, she was buried next to her mother, Helle Karine Birkley) Note: Mr and Mrs Noah Rosendahl had a daughter also born to them. (The first Mrs. Rosendahl) She was two years older than Nels born Sept 17, 1851 and married A.P. Anderson a homesteader next to Rosendahl. (See A.P. Anderson story.) Contributor: 48248881
