She was born September 30, 1950 in Alexandria to Edwin Allen Baker and Evelyn Octavia Norwood Baker. She retired after 15 years as a License Practical Nurse. She also worked 1 year for the Alexandria Police Department and 7 years for the Rapides Parish Sheriff Office. She was a Baptist by Faith, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Larry Wayne Perkins. Those left behind to cherish her memory are: one son, Jonathan Perkins and wife Samantha of Pitkin; one step-daughter, Candy Michelle Coker of Cravens; two sisters, Virginia Baker Reyher of Ringgold, Georgia and Evelyn Delight Baker Greenlee of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Savannah Grace Perkins, Karley Morgan Perkins, Trinity Nicole McDaniel, Zachary Tyler McDaniel, and Dimikol Raven Coker; three nephews; six nieces; and a host of family and friends. Pallbearers to serve will be Jonathan Perkins, Terry Sweat, Connor Carter, Troy Carter, and Cameron Sweat. Visitation will be held in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 23, 2015 from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m., then on Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 9 a.m. until service time at 2 p.m. in the chapel.
