Nora Ellen McConnell is in the 1900 federal census as Nora McConnell. She and her family were living in the Union Township of Madison County, Arkansas. Nora was 10 months old, having been born in July of 1899 in Arkansas. Her parents were John and Juda (probably Julia) McConnell. They had been married 19 years. John was then 61 years old, having been born in June of 1838 in Tennessee. His parents had been born in North Carolina. He was a farmer who owned his land free and clear. Juda was 42 years old, having been born in October of 1856 in Arkansas. She had given birth to 10 children and all 10 were still alive as of the census. The children were all born in Arkansas. They were (Albert, 19), Allie E. (17), Andy (15), Mary F. (13), Harrison (11), Laura (7), Walter (6), Inez A. (3), Flora (10 months), and Nora (10 months).
