She passed from this life July 10, 1960 at Clarinda, Iowa, at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 5 days. She had been in failing health for the past ten years. Read More	Osceola Sentinel, Osceola, IA July 14, 1960, page 6 Obituary Nora Griffin Jones Nora Griffin, daughter of Alfred and Sarah Johnson Griffin was born in Montgomery county, Kans., February 5, 1875. She passed from this life July 10, 1960 at Clarinda, Iowa, at the age of 85 years, 5 months and 5 days. She had been in failing health for the past ten years. She came to Clarke county, Iowa with her parents as a child and resided in this county for a period of 83 years. On March 6, 1895 she was united in marriage with Clarence Elzie Jones at Osceola, Iowa. To their union five sons and three daughters were born. She was highly devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren and was a good neighbor and citizen, highly respected by all who knew her. She was a woman of deep religious faith and her faith grew stronger to the end of her life. She was a member of the Methodist Protestant church and had been active in the life of that organization in the Frame community, the East Chapel and Osceola communities. She is survived by her husband, five sons, Raymond and Oral of Osceola, LeRoy of Pittsburgh, Penn,. Howard of Fort Dodge and Kenneth of St. Joseph, Mo., and two daughters, Effa Harlan of Osceola and Vera Stilley of Denver, Colo. their are 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Viva Eggleston of north Hollywood, Cali., and a half brother, Ortho Griffin of Osceola. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, daughter Mabel, a sister, five half brothers and a half sister. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Warren Hile at the Webster Funeral Home Wednesday, July 13, at two o'clock. Music was furnished by Emil Rinderspacher with Amy Ruth Harlan at the organ. Burial was in the Cox cemetery in Clarke county.
