She was the eldest of 10 children born to Alonzo Milan and Flora Orisa Cox Beeson. They lived in that vicinity until April of 1912 when the family came to Colorado, homesteading 10 miles north of Laird. Read More	NORA OPAL (BEESON) CHANDLER Holyoke Enterprise, Holyoke, CO, June 1986 OPAL CHANDLER RITES MAY 29 Nora Opal Beeson was born November 10, 1900 at a farm near Bartley, NE in Red Willow County. She was the eldest of 10 children born to Alonzo Milan and Flora Orisa Cox Beeson. They lived in that vicinity until April of 1912 when the family came to Colorado, homesteading 10 miles north of Laird. Later that year she went back to Bartley, NE to make her home with her grandmother, Sarah Brown, and go to school there, spending her summers in Colorado until 1917 when she came to her home in Colorado to stay. She was married to Ray Paul Chandler October 30, 1919 at the family home north of Laird and came to a farm in Phillips County southeast of Holyoke where they made their home until Ray's death in 1936, except for a short time in Missouri and Kansas. To this union, eight children were born. Five girls Hope, Bonnie, Mona, Myra and Mildred; and three sons Wayne, Paul and Wendyl. Her father, mother and six sisters preceded her in death. Her son Paul died at the age of six weeks, and her husband passed away August 18, 1936. She became a member of the First Christian Church in Barley as a girl and transferred her membership to the First Christian Church in Holyoke in 1937 when she moved from the farm with her children. She has lived in Holyoke since then. Opal passed away May 26 in the North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. She leaves the following children: Hope Emery and husband Bill of Redmond, OR, Wayne Chandler and wife Margie of Holyoke, Bonnie L. Hogsett and husband Clyde of Fort Morgan, Mona Lee Bryant and husband Alfred of Hermingston, OR, Myra Sherwood and husband Orville of Brindgeport, NE, Wendyl Chandler and wife Jackie of Melbourne, FL, Mildred Saylor and husband Jack of Holyoke. There are also 25 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and a sister, Ethel Stewart and husband Everett of Cambridge, NE, who survive her passing. Funeral services were held May 29, 1986 at the First Christian Church in Holyoke, with Rev. Ken Boswell officiating. Interment followed in Holyoke Memorial Park.
