Mrs. Nora Olvie (sic) Brown Rieke was was born in Republic County, Kansas, about 5 miles southwest of Chester, April 19, 1875, and died at Blue Valley Hospital, Hebron, Nebraska, Dec.6, 1920, aged 45 years, 7 months, and 17 days. She became a Christian when about 15 years old uniting with the Baptist Church. For several years after her marriage sh (sic) affiliated with the Methodist Church, but for the last two or three years she has been attending the Christan (sic) Church. She was married August 15 1894, to Mr. Frank H. Rieke. To this union were born 12 children, 7 of whom died in early infancy, leaving five surviving. Two of these, are married Harry Rieke and Alice Allsman. Three are still at home, Elmer, Nora and Christie. Mrs. Rieke has been complaining for some time but her indomitable will kept her going till within a short time of her death. Her suffering at last became unendurable and the death angel came and relieved her of it all. She leaves besides her husband and children, an aged father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. Clara Pressnail of Chester and Mrs. Mary Croop, of Toledo, Washington. Also two brothers, H. L. Brown, Manhattan, Kans., and S. O. Brown, Oskaloosa, Iowa, besides other more distant relatives and a great number of friends who mourn hr (sic) departure from the home and community in which she was ever a faithful wife, a careful home keeper, an indulgent mother and a true neighbor and friend. We mourn her loss but our sorrow happy reunion in that land of cloud- happy reunion in that land of cloudless (NOTE: typed as written in newspaper) day, in that house not made with hands eternal in the heavens, where freed from all sorrow, sickness, pain and death, we shall dwell forever in an unbroken company.
