Bauer, 62, of Carroll, died Saturday evening, March 28, 1992, at his residence following a lingering illness. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 31, at St. Lawrence Church in Carroll. Celebrant will be Father Robert Gralaap. Mass servers will be Ryan Handlos and Glen and Andy Haverman. Casket bearers will be Marty Greving, Gary Haverman, Dave Wendl, Eugene Danzer, LaVern Greving and John Wurzer. Honorary casket bearers will be Tony Meiners, Bernard Greving, Paul Wendl, Vic Wendl, Clarence Wittrock and Charles Thielen. Visitation began at 2:30 pm today, Monday, at Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll. Rosaries will be recited at the funeral home today at 3 and 8:15 pm, the latter by the Carroll Knights of Columbus. There will be a Christian wake service at 7:30 pm today at St. Lawrence Parish. Born Aug. 2, 1929, at Willey, he was a son of Conrad and Clara (Langel) Bauer. He spent most of his lifetime in the Willey community and attended St. Mary School in Willey. In 1951 he entered the Marine Corps and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1953. On May 24, 1955, he was married to Ardis Bruning at St. Bernard Church in Breda by Father J.P. Hausman. The couple farmed southeast and south of Willey until 1989, when they moved to their present home in Carroll. He was a member of St. Lawrence Parish, the Parish Men's Club, the Carroll Knights of Columbus and DeWitt Loustaunau American Legion Post 20 of Dedham. His most cherished moments were spent with his two grandsons, Tim and Brian Bauer. Mr. Bauer is survived by his wife Ardis of Carroll; his children, Linda Bauer of Willey, Dan Bauer of Willey and David Bauer and his wife Lori of Willey; two grandchildren, Tim and Brian Bauer; and a brother, Leon Bauer of Willey. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Beatrice Bauer.
