Description	:	Norma A. Gottula, 100, of Beatrice died at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. She was born on April 22, 1914 at rural Plymouth, lived in Vona, CO, Burwell and Harbine before her marriage to William Pingel and they lived in Beatrice for many years. They later divorced. She moved to Jansen and worked for the Jansen Hotel and Steak House for several years. She married Norman Gottula in 1976. Gottula, 100, of Beatrice died at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation on Wednesday, June 11, 2014. She was born on April 22, 1914 at rural Plymouth, lived in Vona, CO, Burwell and Harbine before her marriage to William Pingel and they lived in Beatrice for many years. They later divorced. She moved to Jansen and worked for the Jansen Hotel and Steak House for several years. She married Norman Gottula in 1976. She was a former member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Jansen and was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice. She enjoyed crocheting, collecting pottery and flower gardening. Survivors include her daughter, Dianna DeShazer and husband Rodger of Downey CA; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Sharon Laue of Tecumseh; step-son, Lee Gottula of Auburn; three step-grandchildren; sister-in-law, LaVella Schwartz of Colorado Springs, CO; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry A. and Augusta W. Schultz Schwartz; her husband Norman, who died on November 5, 1989; her son, Ronald; three brothers, Leonard, Elmer and Dale Schwartz; two sisters, Lucinda Wilhelm and Dora Wolter. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 16, 2014 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Beatrice with Pastor Douglas D. Irmer officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Home Cemetery of Beatrice. A family prayer service will be held at 10:15 A.M. on Monday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Sunday and at the church one hour preceding the services on Monday. Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice in charge of arrangements.
