Norma Sorensen was born November 14, 1938 in Vermillion to Harry and Clara (Martinson) Sorensen. She attended the Island school rural Vermillion and graduated from the Vermillion High School in 1956, and the University of South Dakota in 1960. Norma married Walter Mockler on May 27, 1961 in Vermillion. She farmed with her husband, and also had worked in customer service for Mediacom in Vermillion for the past 21 years. She is also survived by a brother Nels (Linda) Sorensen of Vermillion, three sisters; Arlis (Daryl) Johnson of Vermillion, Marilyn (Jim) Trudeau of Sturgis, SD, and Karen (Ron) Prusa of Wakonda, SD, 7 grandchildren, and Lillian Williams of Vermillion. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Betty Ann. Burial in the Calvary Cemetery in Vermillion. The Hansen Funeral Home in Vermillion is handling the arrangements.
