Description	:	Norman Diedrick Carl Tonjes was born to his loving parents George Henry and Martha D. (Hilbers) Tonjes on Monday January 10, 1927 at Scribner, Dodge County Nebraska. Norman was baptized on Sunday February 20, 1927 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Pastor Rhode. Norman attended country elementary district thirty five. (Hilbers) Tonjes on Monday January 10, 1927 at Scribner, Dodge County Nebraska. Norman was baptized on Sunday February 20, 1927 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by Pastor Rhode. Norman attended country elementary district thirty five. On Sunday August 21, 1940 Norman was confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Hugo Welchert. Norman graduated from Scribner High on Friday May 26, 1944. Norman served his country in the Army and was stationed in Japan. Norman was united in marriage to Norma Koester on Sunday January 10, 1954 which would have been his twenty seven birthday. The wedding took place at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. E. L. Borgmeyer officiating. The couple were blessed with three daughters and two sons over the years of their marriage. Norman enjoyed fishing and watching all his ball games. Norman spent his lifetime farming and raising cattle. Norman was a member of the Scribner American Legion Post 121 and the West Point Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4912. Norman also served on the school board of elementary country district 12, the Scribner Rural Fire Department, the Scribner Co-op, and the Good Samaritan Home. I knew his brother-in-law Vernon Koester, Vernon was a distant relative of mine. Sadly Norman passed on Thursday November 21, 2019 at the Hooper Care Center at the age of 92 years, 10 months, 11 days which does not include his last day, he lived a total of 33,918 days. Norman's visitation was held on Sunday November 24, 2019 at the Ludvigsen's Scribner Funeral Chapel from 2p to 6p with the family being present from 2p to 4p. Norman's funeral service was held Monday November 25, 2019 at 11a at the St. John's Ridgeley Lutheran Church southwest of Scribner. Norman was interred in the St. John's Ridgeley Cemetery with military honors. Norman's information was provided from researching many resources and my memory.
