Description	:	Norris L. Bredehoft, of Battle Creek, NE. died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Norfolk (NE.) Veterans Home. Norris was born October 1, 1919 at Battle Creek the son of John and Martha (Fenske) Bredehoft. Norris was baptized on October 26, 191 and later confirmed on May 14, 1933 at St. John Lutheran Church. He later served as an usher, financial secretary, and several various boards. Norris married Viola Otjen on November 23, 1941 at St. John Lutheran Church. He then served in the U. S. Army form January 24, 1942 by attending basic training at Ft. Riley and... Read More	Norris L. Bredehoft, of Battle Creek, NE. died Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at the Norfolk (NE.) Veterans Home. Norris was born October 1, 1919 at Battle Creek the son of John and Martha (Fenske) Bredehoft. Norris was baptized on October 26, 191 and later confirmed on May 14, 1933 at St. John Lutheran Church. He later served as an usher, financial secretary, and several various boards. Norris married Viola Otjen on November 23, 1941 at St. John Lutheran Church. He then served in the U. S. Army form January 24, 1942 by attending basic training at Ft. Riley and then after Army Mechanic school. He was assigned to the special services as an instructor for two years and then at the 20th Armor Division at Ft. Campbell he was an Ordinance mechanic until he was discharge on December 8, 1945. He also served in Europe from February until August 1945 where he was awarded a Battle Star. Norris worked the family farm from 1946 until retiring in 1983. He also had done welding and mechanical work. He was a life member of the American Legion Post 75 where he held offices for the local, county, and district posts. He and Viola moved in the Norfolk Veterans Home in 2007. Norris is survived by: sons and their wives, James and Kathy Bredehoft, and John and Mitzi Bredehoft all of Battle Creek, grandchildren, Michael (Pam) Bredehoft, Rachelle (David) Jaraba, Crystal Bredehoft, Courtney Bredehoft, Angela Bredehoft and Seth Bredehoft. Norris was preceded in death by his wife in November 2010.
