Death was attributed to a coronary occlusion by Tipton County Coroner, Phil Nichols, who investigated. McCreary, who farmed actively despite his age, had left his home enroute to Sharpsville where he intended to purchase groceries. He had traveled about two miles when his car was stalled in the snow and the heart attack occurred while he was engaged in freeing a path for the machine. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday from the Pritchard Funeral Home in Windfall, with Rev. Edwin Smucker of the Hemlock Friends Church officiating and burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Windfall. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. Friday. The deceased was born near Elwood August 18, 1878, the son of George and Martha (Dunn) McCreary. His first wife, Louise Tolle, died in 1919 and in 1934 he was married to the former Mrs. Minnie Grady. He moved in 1945 to the Hemlock area. He was a member of the Hazel Dell Friends Church in Windfall. Survivors include the widow, two daughters. Mrs. Gladys Gilligan of Fort Recovery, Ohio, and Mrs. Goldie Huffman of Anderson; a son, Glen McCreary of Fort Recovery, Ohio; a stepson, Clifford Wine of Spearfish. South Dakota: 2 brothers, Clarence and Ed McCreary of Elwood; four grandchildren. three step-grandchildren: eight great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren.
