They settled near Mediapolis and she was confirmed in the Swedish Lutheran Church in 1895. Later she became a member of the Presbyterian Church of Oakville. On Oct. 15, 1900, she was married to John William Carlson, who died Sept. 10, 1953. A granddaughter, Karen Woodrum, also died previously. Surviving are two sons, and five daughters: Glen Carlson, Columbus, MT; Elmer Carlson, Des Moines; Mrs. Inez Eggers, Gardner, MT; Mrs. Ruth Kallenberger, Wapello; Mrs. Irene Woodrum, Fairfield; and Mrs. Anna Jennings and Mrs. Esther Cooper of Burlington. Also surviving are three brothers and three sisters: Emil Anderson, Mediapolis; Frank and Joseph Anderson, both of Burlington; Mrs. Minnie Drips, Rock Island, IL; Mrs. Hilda Johnson, Ottumwa, IA and Mrs. Esther Gerling, of Grandview, IA; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Last rites will be held at the Oakville Presbyterian Church at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Donald Anderson, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Mediapolis will officiate and burial will be in Edward cemetery. The body is at the Dudgeon funeral home, in Wapello. Ref: Mrs. Glenn Carlson – Mrs. William Smith Jr., Mrs. John O'Brien and Mrs. Earl Smith sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset" with Diane Carlson at the organ. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. Wilbur Williams and Mrs. J. G. Waterhouse. Bearers were Russell Mellinger, Albert Swafford, Raymond Peck, Ed. C. Rold, A. E. Faris and John O'Brien. Burial was in Edwards Cemetery.
