Description	:	OLE B. JOHNSON Ole B. Johnson was born at Nordere Froen, Gulbransdalen, Norway, on the 18th of June, 1864. He spent all of his childhood and early young manhood in the land of his birth, and at the age of 22 years, in 1886, came to the United States, arriving first at Boyd Lac Que, Parel County, a French settlement. The next year, in 1887, he came to North Dakota, then still Dakota Territory, and settled at Lisbon. Johnson was born at Nordere Froen, Gulbransdalen, Norway, on the 18th of June, 1864. He spent all of his childhood and early young manhood in the land of his birth, and at the age of 22 years, in 1886, came to the United States, arriving first at Boyd Lac Que, Parel County, a French settlement. The next year, in 1887, he came to North Dakota, then still Dakota Territory, and settled at Lisbon. On January 7, 1892, he was united in marriage to Hilda Nelson of Kathryn and the same year the couple established their home on a government claim in Greenland Township, where they resided until three years ago when they moved to Litchville. Nine children were born to this union, of whom one died years ago. Surviving are his wife, Hilda, and eight children, namely: Melvin Johnson of Tacoma, WA; Peter Johnson of Missoula, MT; Mrs. L. C. Johnson (Anne) of Devils Lake; Henry Johnson of Mott; Mrs. C.J. Nybeck (Palma) of West Fargo; Carl Johnson of this village; Palmer Johnson of Chicago and Hazel Johnson, at home. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The funeral was held on August 22 with services at the First Lutheran Church of Litchville with Rev. J.E. Lee officiating. Mrs. Bernt Christianson sang three songs with Marlys Haarsager as piano accompanist. There was a profusion of flowers and many gifts to missions in memory of the departed one. Pallbearers were: Lars Seglum, Abraham Skretting, Chris Olson, Martin Peterson, Gilbert Berg and Elliot Johnson. Interment was in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Ole B. Johnson was a good husband and father, a loyal friend and a helpful neighbor. He will be missed in home and community/. Blessed be his memory. Published in The Litchville Bulletin, Litchville, ND, August 1944.
