Description	:	Ole's parents Hellik and Marit (Mary) emigrated to America with their two sons Gisle and Ole on the ship S.S. Nova Scotian. His brother Hellick did not travel with them, he came three years later. The family left from Liverpool, England and arrived in Quebec, Canada in May 1868. They headed to Dane County, Wisconsin to live. Once in Wisconsin the family went to the town of Christianna, in Dane County, Wisconsin to live with a family by the name of Andrew and Jane Lems. They headed to Dane County, Wisconsin to live. Once in Wisconsin the family went to the town of Christianna, in Dane County, Wisconsin to live with a family by the name of Andrew and Jane Lems. While they lived with them, Hellik worked on their farm as a farm laborer and Marit as a domestic. They lived in Dane County for about 7 years until they moved west t Nebraska. On June 1, 1874 a group of pioneers started out in covered wagons for their destination in Boone County, Nebraska. Hellik left on the wagon train with them alone, as the group headed west. He left his family behind in order to spend about one year preparing a home for them. After a successful five week journey the group arrived in Old Town (Newman Grove), Nebraska on the 4th of July 1874. His father, Hellik O. Satter, filed for a 160 acre homestead in Midland Precinct, Boone County, Nebraska on August 1, 1874. It was located on the N.W. 1/4 of Section 32, Township 21 North, Range 5 West, 6th P.M. They family built a sod home there and made improvements on the farm. Their sons Ole, Hellick, and George lived with them and helped with the farm work. As the sons married, they moved on to their own farms. George never married and remained living with them, helping with the farm work. Under the name Ole Hellikson, he filed for his own homestead on Jan. 4, 1877 on the South 1/2 of the North West 1/4 and the East 1/2 of the South West 1/4 of section 30, in Township 22, Range 5 West, 6th PM, in Boone County, Nebraska. It contained a total of 160 acres and he began living there in a sod house on June 28, 1878 He received the title to the land on July 15, 1886. Ole H. Satter and Jennie/Joran Bakkerud were married in 1880, in Boone County, Nebraska. They were both members of South Branch Lutheran Church. They lived in the Shell Creek community until 1925 when they moved to Newman Grove, Nebraska. Ole H. Satter passed away at his home in Newman Grove after a long illness. His funeral services were held at Trinty Lutheran Church in Newman Grove on Oct. 1, 1931. His remains were brought to South Branch Church for burial. Rev. Austin and Rev. Turmo officiated.
