Description	:	Oliver Chistopher "Chris" Erickson, age 97, died Saturday February 27, 1993 At Prairie Hills Health Care Center. He was born September 27, 1895 in northwest Greenwood County. Erickson was the son of Ole and Eliza Paulson Erickson. He attended the Ivanpah Rural School. Chris served in the U.S. Army during the latter part of World War I and was stationed at Ft. Riley. Read More	Oliver Chistopher "Chris" Erickson, age 97, died Saturday February 27, 1993 At Prairie Hills Health Care Center. He was born September 27, 1895 in northwest Greenwood County. Erickson was the son of Ole and Eliza Paulson Erickson. He attended the Ivanpah Rural School. Chris served in the U.S. Army during the latter part of World War I and was stationed at Ft. Riley. His division had their orders and were preparing to go to war when the armistice was signed. He worked as a farmer and rancher all his life. On December 28, 1940 he was united in married to Bertha M. Soule at Yates Center. Chris was a member of the VFW Post 2712 and attended the Upper Fall Lutheran Church. Survivors include his wife, Bertha of the home; two sons Maurice of Eureka and Dean of Jackson, Wyo.; two daughters, Charlotte Turner of Blanchard, Okla. and Christine Hill of Hutchinson; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was prededed in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters. Funeral services were held Wednesday March 3, at Campbell-Kelly Funeral Home with Paster Mark Grunner officiating. Interment followed in the Upper Fall River Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name with the Prairie Hills Health Care Center Activity Fund.
