Mrs. Erickson passed away last Wednesday at the home of a son, Chris Erickson near Reece. Mrs. Eliza Paulson Erickson was born Trunjem, Norway August 24, 1856. She came to America at the age of two with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Ole Paulson and two brothers Paul and Arne Paulson. They landed at Quebec, later living at Dodgeville, Wisconsin. Her family moved to Greenwood county, Kansas when she was eight, traveling by covered wagon. They settled in a log cabin on a homestead in the Ivanpah district. The remeinder of her life was spent in Greenwood County with the exception of a few months spent in Sulphur, Oklahoma and Butler County, Kansas. She was the last one of her immediate family, her only sisster, Mrs. G. K. (Mary Ann) Jackson passed away in 1950. She was married to Ole Erickson in Eureka, Kansas, September 26, 1880. To this union were born nine children. Her husband and three children-Charles I., Thomas and Oscar preceded her in death. Her husband died February 2. 1925. Charles and Oscar died in infancy and Thomas died in early manhood. These remaining are: Mrs. Chris Evenson, Eureka, Kansas; Mrs. Louisa M. Cannon, Eldorado, Kansas; Charles Erickson Eldorado, Kansas; Logan Erickosn, Sulphur, Olahoma; Arne Erickson Reseda, California; and Chris Erickson, Reece, Kansas. She also leaves twenty grandchildren, twenty seven greatchildren, and four great-greatgrandchildren along with host of friends.
