Bayless. The funeral was conducted by Rev. H. B. Morris, of Bronson, who offered comfort and consolation in prayer. Read More	BRONSON PILOT Thursday, November 23, 1933 OMA - NICHOLS BAYLESS. ..The Methodist church was filled with friends today who came to pay their last respects at the funeral of Mrs. C. W. Bayless. The funeral was conducted by Rev. H. B. Morris, of Bronson, who offered comfort and consolation in prayer. The minister read the 23rd Psalm and took his text from Job; "O, that I Could Find The Lord." He said: "We take the Lord for our Mediator, Counselor, Comforter and Umpire. We choose Him for His Love and Counsel. Why should we be sad when we think of the beauty, grandeur and glory of the eternal world?" In speaking words of comfort to the bereaved family, he said: "Put your hand in the Lord's, let Him lead and guide you and there will be no need of shadows." ..There ere many beautiful floral tokens of love and sympathy, the family piece being a large casket bloc of mums, roses and carnations, and inscribed "Mother:" she is from Odd Fellows. M.E. church, Dorcas Class South Fairview church and Ladies Aid, a beautiful basket of mums and roses from the U. H. S.; Motor Equipment Co.; Sprays from Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Ralston, Mrs. Grace Ralston, McKinn's girls and husbands, Mrs. H.M. Griffith, the Stroud families, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parker and many other personal nieces. ..A quartet composed of Mrs. Ed Holt, Mrs. Fred Swink, Robt. Read and G. O. Cowan sang "Fade, Fade Each Earthly Joy" and "Going Down the Valley," accompanied by Mrs. Lloyd Stroud. ..Pallbearers were W. A. Stroud, James Barnhard, L.E. Holt, F.M. Draper, Mont Cox and Gene Mosier. ..Interment was in the Bronson cemetery. ------------------------------------ ..Oma Elizabeth Nichols, daughter of Henry and Ella Nichols, was born near Bronson on the family homestead, June 24, 1881, and passed to the Great Beyond Nov. 21, 1933, at the Burk Street Mercy Hospital after a brief illness of four days of pneumonia. She was converted and united with the South Fairview church in girlhood. She was united in marriage to Charles W. Bayless Oct. 17, 1898. to this union were born four sons and one daughter; Dan. of the South Fairview neighborhood; Claud of Uniontown; Myrl and Virgil of the home, and Mrs. Reita Crowder, of Fort Scott. ..She leaves to mourn their loss, besides her aged mother, three brothers. Sylvester Nichols, of Stultz, Mo., D. R. Nichols, of Fort Scott, and her twin brother, Elmer, of Iola. ..Mrs. Bayless will not only be sadly missed by her immediate family to whom she was counselor, advisor and "pal," and her aged mother, to whom she gave such tender care and devotion, but also by her neighbors to whom she was a neighbor in the true sense of the word. ..Her memory will ever be held in loving remembrance by all who knew her.
