Read More	Obituary; Houseman Funeral Home, Clear Lake, SD Oneith Wilhelmina Asmussen was born on April 25, 1927 in Corsica, SD, to John and Clara (Wieczorek) Schrank on the farm near Corsica, SD. Oneith was the youngest of four children and attended Corsica School and grew up with her Lutheran Faith in the Blooming Valley Church. After graduating in 1945, Oneith met and married Harris Asmussen on May 5, 1947. This is where her life as a farm wife and homemaker began. In the next 6 years two daughters, Carol and Patricia completed the family. Harris passed away October 28, 1962. Following Harris' death, Oneith remained on the farm and raised her girls. On November 21, 1965 she married Arlie Asmussen of Clear Lake, SD. Oneith kept busy with many hobbies: embroidery, cooking, baking, crocheting cards, taught Sunday School and Bible School, sang in the church choir, also delivering Senior meals and having coffee guests. On July 4, 2011 Arlie and Oneith moved into Hidewood Estates. She volunteered at the Good Samaritan Center in the Activities Department. She was a people person, loved being with people and always had homemade treats for everyone to take along home. Her family was here biggest joy and she became "Gama Oni" to her great-grandchildren. On July 1, 2013 she entered the Deuel County Good Samaritan Center where she passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the age of 87 years, 11 months and 15 days. Oneith will be greatly missed by her daughters: Carol (Jim) Bolt and their children; Forrest, Travis and Coral (Todd) Nordmann and their children Denver and Samara; Patricia Asmussen and her son Harris; step daughter Dee (Jack) Eide and their children; Becky (Robb) Krause and their children; Riley, Landon (fiancé Kasey) and Alissa; Stacy (Jacque) Eide and their children; Luke, Lance, Logan and Layton; and Tammy (Matt) Baer and their children; Rachel, Mason, Jackson and Aiden; and nieces and nephews and Arlie Asmussen. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Harris, two brothers: Norman and Earl; one sister Goldie; sister-in-law Wanda, brother-in-law John (Toft) and niece Norene Eggers. Funeral Services: Wednesday, April 15, 2015 ~ 2:00 PM Trinity Lutheran Church, Clear Lake SD Thursday, April 16, 2015 ~ 2:00 PM St Paul Lutheran Church, Stickney, SD **Note: Oneith married twice, both married names were Asmussen and so far no relation to each other has been found, possibly farther back in Germany is the connection.
